Pinocchio swam in the sea the whole night. At daybreak,

a huge wave pushed him onto a small island.
一个大浪把他推到了一个小岛上。
It was the island of the Busy Bees. On the Island, there was a small town called Busy-Bee Town.
这个小岛叫勤劳的蜜蜂岛，岛上有
一个小村庄叫勤劳的蜜蜂庄。
The streets were filled with people running to and fro about their tasks. Even if one were to search every corner, not one idle man or one tramp could have been found.
村庄里的人都在工作，哪怕你打着灯
笼，也找不到一个懒汉。
" This is no place for me! " said Pinocchio wearily, " I was not born for work."
啊?这个村庄不适合我！懒惰的
皮诺奇说，因为我从来不干活！
But he began to feel hungry, for it was twenty-four hours since he had eaten. What was he to do?
可是他已经饿了一天没吃东西了。怎
么办呢?
Just then a man passed by, pulling two heavy carts filled with coal. Pinocchio said to him with eyes downcast in shame:
这时路上走来一个拉着满满两车
木炭的人，皮诺奇有气无力地说：
" Will you be so good as to give me a penny, for I am faint with hunger?"
你能发发慈悲，给我半个便士吗?
我快饿死了！
" I'll give you four if you will help me pull these two wagons." said the Coal Man.
只要你帮我把这两车木炭拉到家
里，我会给你两个便士。那人说。
" But I never pulled a wagon before." Pinocchio didn't want to work.
可我从来没有拉过车。皮诺奇不
想干活。
In less than a half hour, at least twenty people passed by
在不到半个小时的时间里，一共
走过了二十个人，
but nobody wanted to give the lazy Pinocchio a penny.
可没有一个人愿意给不干活的皮诺奇
半个便士。
Finally a little woman came by carrying two water jugs.
最后有一个漂亮的小妇人提着两
罐水走过来了。
" Will you allow me to have a drink?" asked Pinocchio. " With pleasure, my boy!" she answered.
我能喝点水吗?皮诺奇问道。
喝吧，孩子，随便喝吧。
On hearing these words, the good little woman immediately said, " If I could only as easily get rid of my hunger!" On hearing these words, the good little woman immediately said,
那你能给我点吃的吗?
" If you help me carry these jugs home, I'll give you a slice of bread."
你帮我把水提到家里，我就给你
面包吃。
Pinocchio still didn't want to work, but he was starving to death, so he helped the little women carry the jugs home.
皮诺奇还想偷懒，可他实在饿得不行
了，只好帮小妇人把水提回家了。
The little woman took out the tasty food for Pinocchio. Pinocchio wolfed it down.
小妇人拿出好吃的东西，让皮诺
奇吃了个饱。
With his hunger finally appeased, he raised his head to thank his kind benefactress. At that instant, his mouth fell wide open.
皮诺奇刚想向小妇人道谢，突然他吃
惊地张大了嘴。
For he discovered that
原来皮诺奇发现，
the little woman looked and sounded just like the Blue-Haired Fairy.
小妇人和蓝头发的小仙女长得一模一
样，连说话的声音也一样。
" Oh, my little Fairy, my little Fairy! I have cried so much!"
你一定是小仙女！我还为你哭了那
么久。
And Pinocchio clasped the little woman and cried again.
皮诺奇抱住小妇人，又哭了起来。
