In 167 BCE, King Antiochus wanted to unify all ofhis land under Hellenism, making it illegal to studyTorah or practice Judaism. Jews were given thechoice to convert or die. While many chose toconvert, a brave group formed a rebellion againstthe Greek soldiers. They were the Maccabees.
They were largely outnumbered, 12000 to 40000.The Greek soldiers were trained and had properequipment. However, the Maccabees had spirit,and maybe a little help from the big man upstairs.They were victorious, creating the first miracleof Hanukkah.
When they returned to the Temple, they foundit in ruins. They lit the menorah with enoughoil to last a day. However, it burned for eightwhole days, this is the second miracle ofHanukkah.
In this exaggerated tribute to Hanukkah and theholiday season, you play the Big Man. TheMaccabees, outnumbered, will fight the Greek soldiers. You must use your powers to defeatthe soldiers before they destroy all of theMaccabees.
Gain shekels by defeating enemies and by havingremaining Maccabees after each level. Use theseshekels to purchase more powers. Beat allsix levels to win.
The Maccabees spawn on the left, and the Greeksoldiers right. Defend the Maccabees at all costs.To use the selected power, simply click in thedesired location, different powers have differenteffects. Click on the arrow in the HUD to changepowers. Press Space to pause.
Certain environmental interactions can bepreformed by clicking on them, such as a fallenbridge. They can work to your advantage or theycan harm you, depending on how you use them.
Sometimes you'll find yourself up against biggerguys than just the Greek soldiers. Quicklytake these baddies out before they wipe outyour Maccabees.
