一只黄鼠狼看见了皮诺奇，走过
来说，晚上好！你是谁呀?
One of them saw Pinocchio. It came up and said, " Good evening! Who are you?"
我是皮诺奇。你在这里干什
么?我在当看家狗。
" I am Pinocchio." " What are you doing here?" " I am the watchdog."
那原来住在这里的那条老狗去哪
了?它今天早上死了。
" Where is the old dog who used to live in this house?" " He died this morning."
那好吧，皮诺奇，我们会和以
前一样，偷八只鸡，
" Well, Pinocchio, we shall do as before. We'll take away eight chickens,
但是给你留一只做早餐。你就假装睡
觉，不许惊动主人。怎么样?
but leave one as your breakfast. You will make sure you are sleeping and will not bark for the Farmer. Agreed?"
黄鼠狼和皮诺奇讲起了交换条件，
The Weasel struck a deal with Pinocchio just like they bribed the watchdog before.
他们以前就是这样贿赂原来那条看门
狗的。
皮诺奇马上假装同意了，这时四
只黄鼠狼以为自己很安全,
Pinocchio pretended to agree immediately. The four Weasels thought they were safe,
就来到了鸡舍旁，打开木门，钻了进
去。so they went straight to the chicken coop, opened the little door and slipped in.
等他们刚一进去，皮诺奇就从外面把
门紧紧地锁上了。
But no sooner that they were in, Pinocchio locked the door up from the outside.
然后他开始学狗叫，农民听到狗
叫从床上跳了起来，
Then he started to bark. The Farmer heard the barks and jumped out of bed.
拿着枪跑了出来。冲进鸡舍里，抓住
了黄鼠狼。
Taking his gun, he leaped to the chicken coop and caught the Weasels.
农民问∶你是怎么发现这些黄
鼠狼的?
The Farmer asked, " How did you find them out?"
皮诺奇把黄鼠狼想用小鸡贿赂他的事
情告诉了农民，
Pinocchio told the Farmer that the Weasels wanted to bribe him by giving him a chicken.
农民高兴地拍了拍皮诺奇的肩膀，
The Farmer slapped him on the shoulder in a friendly way.
为了表示感激，我马上让你自由，
你可以回家了。
" To show my appreciation, you are free from this moment! You can go home."
皮诺奇自由了。
So Pinocchio regained his freedom.
