PICKING UP OBJECTS
Locate items that help solve the mystery.When picked up by a character, objects will appear in the "Inventory" located at the bottom of the game screen.You can use the objects whenever necessary.
THE INVENTORY
When you pick up an object, it appears in the inventory in the bottom left hand corner of the game screen as an icon. There are two ways to use objects from the inventory: Sometimes you can simply click on the icon of the object; on other occasions you need to drag and drop the icon onto the background or a character to activate the object.
THE DURATION OF THE GAME
Be careful!In Arcane's universe, time elapses with each click of the mouse. If you run out of time, terrible things may happen! Remain cautious and avoidclicking needlessly.
You will learn to rely on your keenness of sight and your deductive abilities. If you click thoughtlessly, your character could be confined to a lunatic asylum or even devoured by a horrible creature of darkness!Be warned!
THE CHARACTERS
Each Arcane character is endowed with his (her) own skills, abilities and field of expertise. To win the game, you will have to master all of them.
Ophelia gathers clues by using her psychic powers. Prescott will employ his many technical tools, while Gregor consults an array of scientific documents or parchments written in forgotten languages.
OPHELIA'S DIARY
You may consult Ophelia's diary at any time for help. The diary enables you to save or load a game.
Click on the icon appearing at the bottom-right corner of the screen to open the diary; you will be able to perform the following:
SAVE GAME: Click to save a running game.LOAD GAME: Click to load a saved game.RETURN TO GAME: Click to close Ophelia'sdiary and return to the game.

Having discovered that a ship belonging to the Elder Star, the Fathersea, was going to fulfill an important mission for the Cardinal that very night, Prescott decided to investigate.
After crawling through the malodorous sewers, Prescott rushed to Dock 13.
His quickness allowed him to reach the ship while it was still docked. While the sailors prepared the ship for departure, he sneaked on board.
The Fathersea navigated on the Thames for a few hours, then dropped anchor in the middle of the river. Immediately, a feverish activity began on the bridge.
Prescott could see nothing from his hideout. He lost patience and inched his way closer, thereby putting himself in grave danger of being discovered.

forget all about the tragedy under threat of excommunication.

Seven thus were chosen, seven holy places capable of containing the demon's evil
emanations. Then began the secret processions that would lead the dismembered
demon to oblivious internment.
Each holy place received its diabolical relic. Each, except one. For at the
thirteenth hour of the first day of the journey, the group carrying the beast's hind
legs was seized by a sudden and terrible tempest, their ship sank in the middle of
the Thames, and all hands were lost.
When he learned of the horrible tragedy, the Abbot of St. George ordered his
monks to search for the missing relics. But no trace of the ship was ever found.
